Idaho Ron thanks for sharing your photos ,they brought back alot of memories. If you want to hunt quail or pheasant in my area you have to go to preserve. I do no know why Maryland bothers to list pheasant seasons in the hunting guide. Thanks to all for sharing your photos.

Our upland hunting isn't a fraction of what it used to be.

They let the cattle graze off all the cover, no more birds, the last two years its been bad. The drought no grass no birds.

When I was training dogs, I also used similar collars. However, some companies provide more humane and user-friendly devices. You should contact professional trainers to learn how to properly train a dog if you have little experience. In addition, some dogs can be trained without the use of a collar. I had mentioned earlier that the collars might not work in Canada. I was in Canada last week running a chainsaw helping a buddy with storm damage. So, I took the collar to see if they are disabled in CN. Mine is not. The handheld unit communicated just fine with the dog collar.

Being an avid bird hunter and black powder nut, I fail to see how this topic fits into this forum? The pictures are nice except no front stuffers to be seen anywhere.

I think it’s a good point you make. I didn’t so much notice though because the dogs are the focus of the thread. It seems like there are a lot of modern things that leak into threads like hunter orange, BP substitutes, lead alternatives.

I think there is value in making an effort to do traditional hunts with accuracy and all the accoutrements, but there is also value in taking a piece of traditional hunting and using/experiencing/discussing. In this case, the dogs are that piece.

I started this thread as it relates to hunting with my bp shotguns with my dog. The GPS collar is simply a tool that helps me keep my dog safe and know where he is.

When there are threads that have no interest to me, I simply dont read them.
