Double barrel percussion pistol

Claimed to be a .60 cal, made of "steel". No other info

Any idea what this might be?

From South America? The number stamped on it would be unusual for a home made muzzleloader, unless it was from somewhere you needed to register it.

Looks better than the ones I have. They came from Thailand. Person I got them from said they were curios for the wall.
After taking them apart and thoroughly inspected. And literally tried to blow them up. They are fully functional.

This is another "wall hanger" I did the same with it. Took apart and tried to blow it up. Don't know where it came from but it didn't have a breech plug or flash hole. The lock has Spain stamped on the inside. Sparks real good.

Actually, yours looks like an early version of the CVA Tower Pistol. I bought one that looked just like it in 1974, it was packaged as a CVA kit and built it according to the instructions supplied with it. Mine had the flash hole drilled but the breech does look like the breech plug is a permanent part of the barrel, not connected to the tang. Maybe screwed in and the outer part cut off? Only markings were SPAIN and a serial number. I still have it today and occasionally take it out and shoot it. The lock does throw great sparks but needs a small flint. Got another Tower Pistol in a trade a few years later but it had the smaller lock CVA used on everything else they sold. Didn't spark as well so it went on down the road.

I screwed mine in and cut it off. The tang is part of the barrel.
