Anyone got a line on double barreled flintlock shotguns?

I took a look at one at Middlesex trading village, but something about it just didnt sit right with me. If need be I'll put together my own, but need a source for parts

Anyone one out there know of a source for these arts or complete firearms?

Thanks in advance

Bob :)

Call Riley or Richard Smith at Long Hammock Barrels, 352-748-7373. Their father makes doubles.

Check out the responses in my thread I started over in "General Muzzle Loading." It begins something like "Anyone done business with Middlesex Village Trading Company?"

I noticed this firearm too and hoped to get responses from those who had purchased the shotgun. Some respondents have traded with MVT and in general liked what they purchased, but they purchased knowing the firearm would need additional work to make it serviceable according to their expectations for the gun.

I have long wanted a side by side shotgun, and the chance to get a double flinter is too good to pass up. I understand it won't be the quality of the finer makers, but I cannot afford a custom gun. I would prefer to build from a kit if I could.

Better warm up your checkbook. A breached set of barrels is gonna cost you a fair penny. I'd guess around $800 just for that.

I did see a pretty nice 20 gauge flint double from Richard Smith reviewed in Muzzmag a while back. I recall being surprised that it was very reasonably priced. Something around $2500 to start if my memory isn't failing me. If I were wanting one, I'd call him.

Just took a look over at General Mzzleloading about the double from MVTC. Not really looking at an Indian made gun. Someone had indicated that another member on here had converted a percussion double to flint, but I just did a search over the entire forum and came up with nil. This is probably what I'll do, as I just got a line on a double 12 gauge that I'm going to pick up.

If someone can point me to the post that deals with converting a percussion to flint they'll be my hero :)

Saw a double flint fowler in 12 bore on Gunbroker last week, don't know if it sold or not. $2500
