OI!

I've been doing an inventory of sorts to see what I still have after the turd burglars struck.

I found that I'm not in bad shape. I still have a few good knives, most of my tools and those wastes of space were nice enough to leave me my box of horns.

Sweet Alanna was nice enough to help her Pop show these horns, which have the most potential in my opinion.

These are various works in progress, or were next in line to be worked on.

I still have plenty of other horns, but they're either too small for a main powder horn, or are so ugly and misshapen that they'll most likely be used for cups and other containers.

Whoops!
"SOMEBODY" forgot to pin the base plug in the horn. The base plug popped out and the horn reverted back to it's original shape. I simply had to boil it again and jam the sizer in.

This is probably why it wasn't taken.

I have this one as well, which only needs a tiny bit of finish work and a staple in the base.
It's rather small, but might work well for a kid, a small caliber rifle or even as a day horn.

Thankfully the muzzle loading culture is also very much a trading culture.
It's good to know that what I don't need can be swapped for something I don't have....such as some good leather for a replacement shooting bag

Anyways, I'll be posting projects as they get completed.

take care

I hope you didn't lose much. Maybe the local police will get lucky and grab those jerks. You might think about hitting your local pawn shops and the likes for your property.

I hope you have some photos, or some sort of markings on the items to identify your property also. Ask for the case number for your report. If you find some of your things for sale somewhere, call the police and give them the case number and tell them you've located your property. Don't tell the folks who have the stuff you are calling the police. Don't even mention it is stolen. They might get rid of it and you will be out of luck. Stay close to the location and wait for the cops to arrive. You don't want to see your property walk out the door after being sold to some unsuspecting customer. Let the cops recover it for you. If the person who has it for sale is a crook, the cops can squeeze him for information and maybe grab the thieves. :cursing:

While our home was being repaired after Katrina some of the “workers” made off with what little remained of my knives and tools. The thieves also took the pitiful little bit of my wife’s jewelry that survived the storm. We called the local police multiple times inquiring about what was being done. We still periodically make the rounds of the pawn shops hoping to see some of those items. :cursing:

Hey Deuce

I'm already on that one but can't share any details as of yet
Curtis......
It baffles me as to the cold hearted attitudes of those "workers"
Seriously....what kind of poo-smear makes off with the few remaining possessions out of the storm-smashed home of people simply trying to get their lives back together???

Anyways....good luck with that
