This #40 Drill cloth seems hard to find. Joann's never seems to have it in stock in their stores. Unless your local store is lucky. Around here 7 stores are not lucky.
So I went looking. I know there are other options like canvass can denim.
I found a place called WAWAK in NY state that is a huge outfit that sells all manner of supplies for garment making. FYI - type in "fabrics" in the search bar.
So I found this under search for Drill cloth. Ordered the smallest amount I could. And it was delivered fast.
Also, they have real humans in customer service that actually know what they are doing , and especially about all the items they sell.
I include a photo, maybe two, of what I bought - - LNG214 Heavy Weight Cotton Twill 7.4 oz. 39" x 2.5 yd - natural. $14.10
Measured at .015 compressed. Doesn't seem to have much sizing if any.
Also, I tried some LNG - 216 which is 10 oz. and measured .020 which might be too much for my 45 and 50. That was definitely thicker and heavier fabric. And, less expensive.
