on a good day i can walk 200 yards then have to stop and wait 20 minutes for my breath and energy to catch up with me. i went hunting last week i covered 3 miles. in the past whitetail hunting i had to keep myself from covering ground to fast. now it is forced on me.
if i had a drone i figure i would miss more than i would see.

Feet are the only transportation I've ever had in the woods. I drive my truck to the area, park and walk to where I'll make my stand. Worked just fine for me.
Hip replacement! 200 counted steps flat ground then the intolerable pain hits.

Many will tell you that using ATV's, Elec. Bikes, Drones etc helps them because they do not have the strength etc or they have disabilities. My answer would be, do something else. A man needs to know when its time to pack it in and seek greener pastures. Your mileage may vary. IMHO
As I pointed out previously we ( the old and damaged) are being told "too bad for you" just go do something else (die!!) There has to be exceptions. Which will be abused by some but that's the price of a free society.

I understand. No one is saying go die. I used to be play for Philas' farm team, Hockey, can't do that any more. I raced motorcyles when I was younger and made it to the Isle of Mann in 1969, cant do that any more, I owned a 34 ft Island Packet Ocean going sailboat, cant do that any more. Life throws a curve at us and we need to deal with it. I do not hunt any more because I do not want to kill, and I do not want to put up with the PITA it is in winter at 9 degrees with knee deep snow et etc. M choice. Point is, sometimes we know when its time to try something else. :dunno:

When I hunted I did the same thing. Two miles or so into the woods, tough area of hills, valleys, ridges, streams, lots of trees, to my usual spot with my brother & friends. We did Still hunting mostly, then if we were lucky, drag that deer out trough thickets, scrub , underbrush, downed trees, etc over streams , up and down hills etc. Fun? Not really? But I did it to spend time with my brother, who loved it.

That fine when it's your choice. But I still like to participate and the govt is regulating me out of it through restrictions that they say is for the animals benefit. But really it's just about getting more money out of your pocket by force and at the same time curtailing my success by not allowing me to use tech to overcome my infirmities

I do not think anyone is trying to force money out of your pocket. Also, the Amer. Disabilities act along with the States hunting regulations do provide some options for people with disabilities. I have also watched numerous people use handicapped parking that get in and out of their large 4x4 with no problem, run into the store etc and while they may have some type of "technical" disability, they obviously are not so impaired that they need to park in a handicapped space, but they do! Once again, something that was designed to help people in need that is used and abused by PEOPLE. So, I imagine there are those that want to keep control over what can be utilized and what can not be utilized or not allowed during hunting seasons. IMHO

Actually I can hop out of my stock height 4x and walk into the store from the handicapped spot for which I have a plate. 100 yds on flat ground is my limit. Far less on broken ground before walking becomes a painful necessary evil. Scouting game on foot is impossible for me. So when you take away ohv's, trail cams, drones etc you force people like me to sit on the couch and watch hunting programs. Or if you're lucky to have a family member with property that has game within a short distance from the back door do your there. I received my gio replacement when I was 38. The doc said it would wear out in time so I asked for the handicapped plate to reduce my walking to make the joint last longer. ( the procedure sucks) but now my knees are gone too from years and years of jumping out Peterbilts and off flatbed trailers. I realize things change but I don't like sanctimonious folks and the govt glib and dismissive statement " too bad for you!!!"

"I realize things change but I don't like sanctimonious folks and the govt glib and dismissive statement " too bad for you!!!" Is this the point you are trying to make? We all have problems, issues, pain, sooner or later. We make choices to deal with them. it is that simple. it is no great conspiracy, or evil govt thing, its called life. My brother has had two heart valves replaced and at 77 he still "walks" into hunting etc, through the snow etc. though not nearly as far as he used too. He hunts flatter areas now, and stays within a half mile or so of the dirt road his truck is on. He had to adapt. That is all I am saying, that sometimes we need to change what we do and how we do it.

Just for the sake of argument. How many parking lots are you in where you would have to park more than 100 yds away from the door? Just curious.

We're not talking about parking lots per-se we're talking about the outlawing of tech in hunting without which damaged individuals are relegated to the couch due to mobility issues. But to your point 99.9% of the time the handicapped spots in parking lots are taken and yes I do have to walk to the business. But by the time I get to the door the discomfort is at teeth grinding level. If you don't live it you don't comprehend it. There's a lot of whataboutisims here that just reinforce my belief that damaged individuals are being told "too bad for you!!" Just go play shuffle board.

Yes, I understand your point. But life is not fair, and what you are saying is because I have a problem, the rules, laws etc need to change to accommodate me, instead of me changing what i do. Remember, this is not about you , it is a discussion. Who else wants the world to accept and change to accommodate them. Yup, you got it, our friends on the left.

Just an aside, If you are in that much pain you really need to get it taken care of. My 89 yr old mother in law just had a hip replacement and she is running around now like a spring chicken!!

When I'm out hunting or anything else I get agoraphobia if I can't find a forest fairly soon. I have always lived in forested country and am used to it. There's acrophobia, arachnophobia (the worst). Most are mild except for maybe arachnophobia, the only one remotely troubling. I hate cities, can't live in an apartment (I'm sure) and don't like to be seen a lot, especially being "eyeballed" by someone. When I was a little younger and very active most of these were very mild. It all has to do with anxiety level. I don't see how a lot of folks can stand to live in an area where all your see are miles and miles of more miles and miles.
the best thing is to live in a forested place with miles and miles of views!
