I was just reading the thred on teflon patches they were saying the teflon patch is a dry patch and won't foul you powder load, well that got me to thinking :hmm: what about a dry grafite covered patch. Has enyone ever tryied this. Grafite is carbon based ,or mabey the grafite spray that they use for coating your moulds for casting boolits( no petrolim as a carrier). Just a thought, mabey get some marbles moving. Dave T. :winking:

Fisher King: Just to get the grey matter going. I have used teflon patches and they worked well. I will tell you when I did you used a damp patch and a dry patch after each shot just more than I liked doing for the little bit smaller groups it gave me. Now if competition was tighter I might go back to using them.

Hello Fisher King,

I have no experience with dry graphite but know what your trying to get at and it does sound interesting for sure.

However I can only think that when a person cleans the fouling out between shots, assuming you would have to get the crud out for the succesive shots, that this would leave the barrel slightly moist and it might affect the next dry graphite patch adversely!

Just my thoughts though but would like to see some results if someone tries it!

Good post.
