FOR SALE EarIy 19th Century Razor

From my research, albeit limited, this seems to be a razor from around 1820. I found reference to an 1819 Paine amd Simpson razor on a shaving forum. While I have shaved with this, I would recommend sending it to be professionally honed. Handle is some sort of bone I believe, and has some inlays and " 25 G.F. Leitch" and some decorations inscribed. There's a split and a small chunk missing at the back of the scales/handle. $75 $65 shipped Conus. Be very wary of professional sharpeners. Run away from one with electric machines.
That razor may want a little work on a fine stone and then a leather strop.

Grew a beard starting the day I had my discharge. Minimized my razor maintenance.

That's sure a nice razor. While I'm no authority on them it does appear to have been made around the time you are advertising. I've got one that was made about 1805 with the exception of the scales. It still performs flawlessley and is very easy to strop. I only have to hone it maybe a couple times a year. I wish I was in the market for another as I think you certainly priced this one very reasonable.
