i have a Remington New Model Army .44 Caliber [top flat] and marked on left flat "Dixie Gun Works, Inc. Made in Italy". No date code. Serial #32491[8] or 0. on right side of the cylinder. The barrel has small, thin vertical tool marks on its entirety. I would love to know who built those for Dixie and, maybe, when. Function is fine. Thank you. Polecat

Some of their kit guns were made by Palmetto Arms. I have a Dixie Colt kit gun from the 1970s with the tree inside a circle trademark just before the serial# on the cylinder. Researching that mark I found it was Palmetto Arms in Italy which is out of business. The barrel was marked like yours with the Dixie gun works made in Italy but no mfg company name anywhere.
