Got this nice size doe around 9 this morning. I had over a dozen squirrels aggravating me till a few does and there younguns came feeding through. I used the Bedford rifle I got from the Fort Frederick Market Fair early this spring. 45 with drill cloth patches lubed with bear oil sitting on top of 70 grains of 3f.

Nicely done.... I have my .45 flinter sighted in with 70 gr of fffg Also! Hope I have your Luck! Our rifle opener is the 3rd weekend of November, so I have some time to wait and see everyone else's good fortune!

Congrats

Nice deer and beautiful rifle there sir. Job well done for both of you. I am thinking about using my Isaac Hanes .50 flinter for a mullie or two this year, and your pictures just add fuel to that fire!
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone. Woke up this morning to 50 degrees and rain. The meat is hanging in the basement, so will be busy cutting and grinding it today. I need an old refrigerator to put meat in when it is warm like this.

May be a little off topic, but mind sharing your recipe for the bologna?

Man I miss that early season in PA. Long seasons here in Mississippi but nothing like being in those fall PA woods.
