Claude, any possibility of getting an "Early Plainsman Forum" for discusions to fill the gap between the Mountain Man and Civil War era? Keeping the topic solely muzzleloading of course, and within an 1840 - 1860 time frame?

OHIO JOE- I really do not know how much work it is for Claude to create a new forum(because I am really PUTER-STUPID). This is one of my favorite time periods, and I thought maybe it would give folks who live in the western states an easier time frame to relate to. A lot of stuff was going on, besides Calif. and Texas. Try kansas,Neb, missouri, and So. Dakota especially by 1850`s. I just thought it would be fun....Respectfully Montanadan

I agree... I too do not know what it would take to have another Forum slipped in among the existing ones for this time period.

There probably is a lot of information floating around out there by members and potential new ML Forum members that are interested in this time frame.

I admit that my main interest is the Fur Trade, but it doesn't hurt to look beyond that time period and research and discuss what became of those mountain men, and the continuing forging of a nation.

We'll just have to wait and see what Claude thinks.

I've been discussing this, but have been too busy to do much about it.

Let me work in it a little and get back to you, (very soon).
