Greetings all,
I am thinking of traveling to the 2009 EPR. Has anyone out there gone to the EPR in the last couple of years? Since I will be trveling from Alaska, pre-planning is a must. I would like to hear the opinions of this event from those who go.
Any info would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I was there last year. I thought it was good. A few problems but definately worth the time. This year will be back at Muddy Run Pa. Last years turn out was smaller than usual. With the economy down this year it is hard to tell what the turn out will be. But it will still most likely be the biggest of the year. It will be a good place to meet buckskinners and make new friends. Every national Roundezvous I attend I see old friends and make new ones.

Muddy Run is a good location. There have been good shooting programs in the past at Muddy Run, but the range is limited due to safety issues. There will be a lot of sutlers and trade blankets there. You can pick up a lot of plunder there that you can't find anywhere else.

There is a lake onsite and there have been canoe races in the past.

Like the name says it can get pretty muddy if it rains for a few days straight. I usually avoid getting too far from a gravel road when I camp at an Eastern. I don't have four wheel drive and I hate packing out my camp to where my two wheel drive pickup can safely drive.

Email the people running the event to get more information.

Many Klatch

Check out the EPR website at www.epr2009.webs.com
I will be posting schedules for events as they are given to me.

There will be canoe events again this year and the Hawk Walk captain is planning a great event.

Feel free to email us with any questions.

Flintlock please feel free to email Bev n Jerry like she said in her post. They are great people n will bend over backwards to try n make sure ya get all the info n have the best time ya can at the Eastern. The site is beautiful n large by eastern standards. And well set up by the staff. There are wooded areas to set up in if your looking for shade n open areas if ya like the sun.Usually around 2000 people camped. Plenty venders(books to blacksmiths, leather bags, knives, guns you name it its there) n bookoo blankets out to barter n trade from. Like somebody else said with the economy the way it is ya never know how many folks will show up but the Muddy Run site has a good rep n so do Bev n Jerry for running a good event. Its not as active after dark as it used to be(we are all getting older hee hee) but there is usually something going on music wise someplace.Plenty shooting of rifle, smoothie's, archery, hawk n knife throws, n much of this done daily. Folks are for the most part friendly n when they find out yer from Alaska they will probably talk yer ear off. theres food venders that serve breakfasr lunch n dinner n the prices are right friendly.Ice is brought around daily n garbage is picked up the same. Water n wood are on site . Like I said the site is large so nobody is tripping over each others tent ropes by a long shot. Now remember we is in the eastern US so it ain't near as big as Alaskie, heck where yer from is most like near as big as the whole eastern US!! Its a great place n event hope ya come on down n enjoy
