As something new for cleaning the breech I am trying quite successfully, I thought I would share it in this thread.

I have a steam cleaner that has a nozzle that comes to a sharp point used for cleaning grout. I do not put on the attachment and I Insert into the threads for the nipple and run then washing via the standard hot soapy water even the CVA breeches come spectacularly clean. Most excellent. I am going to try it next prior to shooting after being in long term storage then an alcohol swab to see how it does removing CLP, which I use to store my rifles for any length of time beyond repetitive shooting days.

It really makes fast work of post shooting cleaning.

I had a hawken plug with hooked breech like that, but thinner. I refused to use it. I got a rough casting and machined it myself.

The TC plugs are also thin in the cut where it fits over the lockplate.

As for chambered breech plugs, I do not use them at all anymore. I do not notch breech plugs.

Someone mentioned a liner sticking in to the barrel. That is an easy job to fix. It is and expected part of installing a liner. The fact the builder did not understand how or care is not good.
