Need some advice, looking for input on my front sight. I have an original Enfield with a Whitacre competition barrel. The front sight is oversize, in order to file or cut down as needed. I am sure others that received this barrel know what I am talking about. The issue? What is the best way to form, cutdown my front sight for accuracey? What is the best distance to "zero" this weapon? Looking for your techniques/ thoughts that worked best? Thank you all, great forum.

Skirmishes and individuals are shot at 50 and 100 yards. I sight for 50 yards and raise the rear sight for a 100 yard zero. A file is the best tool to lower the front sight height. I hope you know Whitacre's front sights can be drifted for windage and that they have a cavity made with a center drill in the base and filled with solder so that once set you only have to heat the sight to solder it in place which is required under N-SSA rules.
