I have not had any luck finding a Deerstalker in .50 flinock. I started looking at a barrel and lock to just use on my Caprock version. Prices for parts are more expensive than the whole gun. I guess the market for these is tight.

Have you placed a 'wanted" post on this forum? Something should come up even if not immediately. I have a LH Deerstalker flint but it's in my permanent collection. Hope you find one.

I built a TC Renegade from random parts, I had to buy a few things like an under-rib and screws at scalper prices off eBay. I picked up a NOS barrel in the white for $65 which got me started but after buying an L&R lock and all of the other needed parts, I had $425 in the finished gun.

Check out Investarms website. They still make the models they made for Lyman and sell them under their own models and label. From there you may be able to find one. Unless not saying Lyman is a deal breaker that is.

@westrayer Here ya go. In stock and on sale.

They also have kits in stock but for a 60 dollar difference I'd buy a finished one and not look back.

Sadly, I hate the new guns with the fiber optic sights. I am looking for an older gun that has the dovetail sight cuts in the barrel.
I do see that they carry the locks.
A flintlock barrel still eludes me.
Thanks

They're nice sights... the "moderns"

I think you could have a gunsmith cut dovetails and install sights though.

I just watched a few videos on it...

I hear ya on the fiber sights. If you blow that image up the front sight is a dovetail. You have to go back many a year (decades) to find one with a dovetailed rear but different standard sights can be had for one or a dovetail can be cut into the barrel if desired. Several discussions on how to go about that on here.

They have the FL barrels in stock as well. Every now and then one pops up in the classifieds here but usually they are the newer ones. EBay is an option but I think you've seen that those vultures want more for used sketchy condition parts that a new specimen can be had for.

I've been in and find myself in the same boat with the TC stuff. Sadly, I've had to wince and pony up the bucks more times that I want to admit. They aren't making em anymore, stuffs drying up, and I either want it or I don't.
