I have this little musket. Not sure what it is. Styled like one of the P1844 Yeomanry muskets.

0.60 caliber, captive ramrod, fixed sights etc.

It has metal fittings and german silver inserts and a one nail only holding the lock. Maybe a commercial piece? Or a private purchase piece by an officer?

No markings. The front sling bolt is cut-off and is only a thick pin and sling point in stock is plugged.

Any ideas?

Not a musket, but a carbine, similar to a Paget's Horse Cavalry carbine, and appears to have been a private purchase. No issue weapon had breech banding like this. British officers had to provide their own weapons, BTW. The lack of stamps is of concern, though, since it would have had to have passed proof here in UK. Markings include proof stamps - from Birmingham or London - even, at that time, Dublin. Crown over V [view] and crown over P [proof] and the calibre by a number of ball to the pound. Have you had the barrel out?

I agree with TFOLEY. Although your short barrel carbine has a swivel rammer, it is definitely not a Yeoman's carbine (see attached). As recommended, pull the barrel to check for proof markings
