I was able to buy a .45 perc. Hawken in nearly new condition at egun. The barrel is stamped "Euroarms of America". But it looks like a Investarm Hawken or Cabelas.
Any suggestions, especially ROT?

I have a Cabella's .45 Hawken. It looks exactly like the InvestArms/EuropeanAmerican Hawken, right down to the patch box. Mine has a 1 in 48 twist. Actually, its a pretty good all around rifle shooting both .445 round ball and Lee 250 grain R.E.A.L. bullets quite accurately once you get the powder charge figured out.

I believe that EuroArms was an importer/distributor. I had a '58 Remington revolver that was marked EAA.

Euroarms Italia S.r.l. is a manufacturer of reproduction black powder guns.

They originally were called Army San Paolo and changed their name on December 31, 2001.

My US M1841 .54 is stamped "Euroarms of America" and is made in Italy. I bought it a few years ago and the quality is exceptional.

The main thing I wanted to clarify with my post is that Euroarms is indeed a manufacturer.

Yes, they also own Euroarms of America which is their U.S. based dealership.

The Blue Book of Modern Black Powder Values says,

"Euroarms Italia S.r.l... also owns Euroarms of America and is currently imported by Cabela's located in Sydney, NE. Euroarms of America located in Winchester, VA, Dixie Gun Works, Inc. located in Union City, Tn, and Navy Arms Co. located in Union city NJ...."

Thanks for the info!

So we will look how this nice rifle will perform at the range and in the forest.

A bullet smith made me a couple of HP maxis for hunting.

euroarms of america *was* formally armi san paolo until 2002.. look for DGG stamped on the barrel for proof that it is the older ASM (it could also be in a circle).

my euro/asm jp murray was made in 1989 and has DGG on it.

armi san paolo began in 1960's when val forgett convinced grassi, doninelli and amamdi to form armi san paolo in italy with euroarms of america, inc. to do the distribution in the usa.

in 2002, a.s.p. changed it's name to euroarms italia, which still uses euroarms america for distribution out of winchester, va.

see "blue book of modern blackpowder arms" 5th edition for all the details.
