Ever Make Lead Shot Like This?

So when he removes the disks, and they clank in his hand...., that's not 100% lead. More like wheel weights.

You can skip one of his hammer steps by melting the stuff, then pouring from about 3' up into a bucket of water, and then cutting the strands of lead alloy "spaghetti".

You can pour your lead through a collander with your wash tub down below it too. I know it works good off the side of a porch ! :) Shot is expensive !!
 
Part of me wants to scoff at that like it's one of those "chainsaw restoration videos". However, not knowing where the guy is. Making crappy looking wire and cutting with a knife could be perfectly legal while melting it to make shot could be considered manufacturing ammunition and prison time.

Would be curious to see what the rest of that "shotgun" looks like.

Never thought of it but I do have a Corbin Swage press. One of the ways to make the slugs for the swage dies is to cut lead wire in a fancy shear. Will have to catalogue this in the memory banks just in case.
