This is a lightly used, possibly unfired example of a Danny Caywood English Game Gun in .54. The English Walnut stock has what is described as a Marblecake grain. It has a sliding wooden patchbox with carefully matched grain orientation. The brass hardware is all engraved. Silver thumbpiece on top of wrist. The round daced English lock is very well made and stamped C.C.& R. for Caywood, Caywood and Rowe. The blued 30" barrel has slow roundball rifling. I can firm up tomorrow. Front and rear sights are brass. Caywood uses a coned touch hole rather than a vent liner. Users report very fast ignition. Gun shows almost no handling marks and bore is excellent. Has the sling swivel and stud upgrade and a very nice leather and cloth sling. Really beautiful gun that Caywood lists for over $2900 on his 2022 price list.
