I shot my TC Hawken .50 flintlock for the first time on Sunday. Just before dark I had my wife video two shots with an iphone. Frame rate was 30/sec (just learned I could have changed that) and from spark to flame at muzzle took 0.10 seconds. Spark to flash was 0.03, more flash at 0.06. Next time I will increase the frame rate to 60 and use slow motion. This is the video screenshot

at 0.10.

I think the OP video likely had the pan loaded with extra powder (maximum capacity) just for the sake of producing the video...
The dude that put up that vid on his channel didn't make it. I'm all but positive those are separate clips put together from a History Channel program several years ago. They've paywalled pretty much everything but the scenes those clips are taken from should be from History of the Gun and another program on medieval armor showing penetration tests of various weapon types of the period.

Cool video, but are there 2 different guns in this video? When the camera is behind the shooter, I don't see a full stock rifle?

The camera shot when the ball is exiting, the stock is full, but looks more like a pistol?

Also what’s that thing flapping around on the back of the frizzon, on top of the pan cover??
