F/I war horn

I made this horn to go with my firelock. It has both German and Scotch elements. it reads "the dread Wechlo, his horn" and the motto "here I stand.

I bought the strap at the Cascade Mountian Man gun show. I cant take credit for making it.

What persona would combine both German and Scotch designs? Were they not two rather seperate groups in the New World?

Or, is this your present heritage and it has nothing to do with 18th century history?

My fathers side of the family are Germans and on my mothers side they are Scotch. The base plug is made from a weird "checker board oak" that I found on a pallet behind the local supermart.
