How do these beloved revolvers come shipped? Is it the ancient smearing of cosmoline, or is the method a heavy coat of protective oil?

And ive never taken anything other then a sidelock plate off, and taken my inline apart, so im left with aprehension about taking it apart and somehow buggering the internals up just before the mandatory safety inspection. SO would leaving that packing grease in the insides hurt mechanical function?

Typically the ones I have recived have just had the heavy oil and then wrapped in plastic (which I hate the plastic cause it keeps the mosture in but hey what do I know).

Usually the heavy oil is on the outside of the revolver. I haven't found any on the internals of any of the guns I've bought.

Thats very good to hear, just heavy oil on the outside. I wasnt looking forward to dealing with purchase permit, ordering, recieving and registration in side 10 days with the thought of internal gunkup.
