This rifle was given to me and i can not find any info on it. I was told it is a Mendi 45cal smooth bore kentucky rifle. It belonged to a friend of mines dad who has passed away. Trying to find if I should build it and practice my inlay and carving skills to hang on the wall or if will shoot. Any info would helpful.

Apparently we need a picture or something. 130 people have looked with no answers so far, so the name isn't helping very much.

I have never heard of a Mendi brand, but a quick check on Google lists several in gun auctions in the $45-$50 price range. Apparently they are a cheaper import in the same class as the later Jukar's line of rifles.

Not personally knowing anything about the quality of Mendis, it should still be worth putting the kit together if you need some experience in carving and engraving.
