I got tired of hating the stock on my deer hunter. A Flintlock should have a wooden stock. I can't afford to pay almost the price of a new gun for a wooden stock so I thought I would turn plastic into wood with some alcohol ink. What do you think?

Wow! What is alcohol ink?
It's a type of artist ink that is used to make colors that blend together kind of like watercolor only with alcohol. They sell various mixtures of colors. One of which is for making fake wood grain. You can look up wood grain tumblers on YouTube people are making coffee cups that look like wood grain and selling them. I thought this would work great on a gun stock. So you paint it a tan color and then just start brushing this stuff on until you like the way it looks and then hit it with some clear coat. This was my first try I am pleased with it. But if you're not it will wipe right off with rubbing alcohol so you can start over. Before you clear coat it of course.

That could be interesting to used PVC pipe to make campaign furniture chair/table/bed that wouldn’t look FARB unless right on top of it.

Found this one on Amazon that includes a blending tool.

Those are the exact colors I used. You also need to spray paint it a tan color or white if you really like a light colored wood. And then some clear coat for when you're done. Make sure the paint is intended for use on plastic. You also have to sand the stock first.

Description listed plastic and vinyl as accepted mediums to use on. 👍🏻 Thanks for the tip about primer color.
