All of the guys mentioned make great southern rifles. A couple more is Joe Schell and the banjo playing Don Bruton. I have a Bruton iron mounted 62 :hatsoff:
 
I would recommend Mike Markey. He posts on here sometimes and builds great rifles. I have never seen a Southern Rifle that he has built but I have seen a good bit of his others and shot them as well and they are outstanding.
 
Tip Curtis makes a nice rifle. Metal to wood fit is one the best I've seen. He only uses top of the line hardware. I bought one at Dixon's builders fair, a few years ago, and it is the best rifle that I own.
