Check the NMLRA website for Charter clubs. There is a club west of you at Rockford. Another club is the Stateline club, that is actually in Wisconsin, but has lots of Illinois members. There are some ranges just across the border in Indiana, near Lafayette, where many South Suburban shooters go to shoot, and the Ill. St. Rifle Association has its range at Bonfield, west of Kankakee. Check any gun store for more specific information and contact numbers. They get these questions all the time. OH, if you don't already know, your Montana Carry permit is no longer good here in the Soviet Republic of Illinois.( one of the only two remaining states in the country that has NO carry permit law, nor recognizes the validity of any other state issued carry permits.) :shocked2:
You will need to obtain an Illinois Firearms Owner Identification Card in order to possession and purchase guns an ammo, and components here in Illinois, and you need to do that within 60 days of entering Illinois to be a permanent resident.
