During the King's Mountain battle anniversary October 8th & 9th I will be doing my Ferguson Rifle demonstrations both days. When the American Revolution ended, The senior British commander was asked " what was the turning point of the war " Without missing a beat General Clinton said King's Mountain. I look forward to going to King's Mountain each year, it's Holy Ground!

I have read and seen pictures of a fregson rifle, If I remember correctly they are of a screw breec mechanisim. Does any one make a replaca fregson rifle? If so who and where can a person get information about it yours hounddog

I have never been but I sure do want to.

A couple years ago I was in England on a military exchange program and was fortunate enough to get a private tour of the weapons museum at Warminster (sort of like their Ft. Benning I was told). Anyhow, they had an original Ferguson rifle and the museum director actually let me hold it!! What a treat.

He said they believed it to be from Ferguson's collection but for all I know it was hearsay however it was original and it was fascinating!

The only way to get a Ferguson Rifle today is to order the parts from The Rifle Shop and build it yourself ( I would recommend a assembled lock! )
Or keep watch on the Muzzleloading sites sale board. Narragansett Arms made 250 Ferguson rifles during the early 1990s, A couple of years ago The Rifle Shop contracted 10 Ferguson Rifles to be built. I got mine used eight years ago. It is Narragansett #85

I'll see you there. This will be my first living history event as a participant.
Don't laugh at my kit too much. I am trying.
