A flash pan holds so little powder that a pound would last a lifetime. How about putting some FF in a stone mortar and pestle and make it about FFFF? Just an idea.

No, besides being potentially dangerous, it increases the hygroscopicity of the powder.

Just buy, a pound of 4ffff, it lasts forever.

Nah, only about 2,300 shots.

I meant it doesn't go bad. If you grind the powder and put it in your horn, you will probably be in for a big surprise when you try to use it 2 years later.
If I were him I'd probably switch to 3fff all around.

If I shot muskets for spectators or punched holes in paper for my own amusement I would use whatever was in the horn but I definitely use NullB in my wing shooting guns. No sense making hitting a Dove, Pigeon, English Sparrow, or Starling harder than it already is with a flintlock. 0B is noticeably faster than 3f. No question. So I use it when the added speed makes a difference. I don’t when it don’t as it’s doesn’t for Deer or Turkey at the ranges I shoot them. Also it’s not as susceptible to moisture as 4f in my environment so that’s great. I don’t ‘need’ to tune my lock or crown my muzzle either but I do because it helps. I also understand my little ticks are my own and there’s plenty of right ways to skin a chipmunk.

Grinding 2Fg does not make a smaller granulation. It only makes dust and a mess. If 2Fg or 3Fg is all you have, use it for priming. Will work fine. I use 4Fg because I always have and have a big supply. Personal preference, no science involved.
