I have been trying for years to get my hands on a T/C Maxi-Hunter bullet mold in .54 cal.

FINALLY after all this time I catch one on FleaBay and get it for a descent price. They have been going for $80-90+ and I caught it for under $60 w/free shipping. Not bad IMO for a VERY hard to get mold.

Now my bullet mold wish list is finally all checked off.

I just hope they shoot good to make it all worth while.

You are a Dawg!!! :rotf: Congradulations. I'll have to keep looking and stay with the Lee REAL in the mean time.

sorry to hear that.

MAXI-HUNTER is about WORST bullet to use in a 1-48 twist.

MAXI-BALL is about BEST bullet to use in 1-48 twist.

Sorry to hear you had poor results with the hunter.

I plan to try them in a few 1:48's as well as a 1:32.

If it's a bummer I can always resell the mold.

I think you need to mould a bunch of them and send them to 54 caliber shooters like myself so we can justify your case that the maxi hunter can kick the REAL bullets butt. :)

Good buy. I bought mine for 25.00 in the eighty's. Mine is a .50. Deer killer for sure in the shallow grove TC. Hawken. Dilly

I have a 45 caliber T/C maxi-hunter mold and they shoot really well in my Seneca. I did buy some T/C cast maxi-hunters and they shot very poorly out of the same gun. I think the mold T/C uses for their commercially cast bullets may be a slightly different diameter (though I never measured them side by side)or something as I couldn't get them to group well at all in my rifle. Probably just a case of different guns liking different bullets.

Probably a slight difference in the alloy used to cast them. Also could be age of the bullets. They harden some over time.

i HOPE you make out.not trying to talk down on your mold.

just, for years we could never get those MAXI-HUNTERS to group good.

t/c even told me they are AWFUL in the 1-48 twist.

but the MAXI-BALLS they said were best and i agree with that.

we seen it at range MANY times.

we had at least 6 t/c hawkins ,1-48 twist that would not shoot those AWFUL bullets, thats all i can say, they are awful.

been there ,done that.

t/c said,THEY WILL NOT STABILIZE IN THE 1-48 TWIST.

Never shot the hunters but have had good results, accuracy wise, with the maxiballs. Don't know why the maxis wouldn't do as well on game. The dang things are sure hard on the cheek and shoulder. :surrender: GW

Got the mold in the mail today. I want to cast some up.

Too bad a threw my stinkin' back out and I can't even stand up straight.

:(

Hopefully I'll be back on my feet soon so I can cast some and shoot this weekend.

maxi -balls are great on deer.

i used 80gr of 2f with 370 gr maxi in my t/c hawkins .50 cal for longtime until i went to pb 295.

always use bore button with them.

they are great bullet and shoot very good.

that is bullet that T/C highly rec in hawkins with 1-48 twist.
