I posted about my new green Mountain barrel for my T/C Hawkens. I tinkered with it some, and it seems 75 grains with Jim Shocky Gold 2F .490 ball and a .018 pillow ticking patch is what it seems to like best. I used mink oil for a lube. That 32" barrel like this one.I'm only shooting 60 yards as where I hunt that would be a long shot. I am thinking about a set of Ghost ring sights for the rear, not sure yet.

Oh sorry, at 60 yards, 3 shot groups were almost touching, I think part of it is me. being a new barrel I think it will get better with time. Next time I will take some pictures of my targets. It was just nice to get out, and to spend some time on the range made it a great day.

Oh yeah, it is. I was surprised. being a new barrel I was looking for a BIG pattern. I think it's a keeper.

Did you get good ignition with that Jim Shockey Gold (American Pioneer Powder)?
