I enjoy the TV show Sons of Guns but do get bent out of shape with some of the staged nonsense. Last night they 'made' a so-called shotgun from a blunderbuss kit. A big deal was made of having a hard time finding parts of a blunderbuss. Utter nonsense, of course. But they did build one and shot it. Pretty pointless but fun.

Yeah, the staged stuff really ruins the show. Maybe it was the same episode, but someone tested the blunderbuss in the basement and the owner got upset. He said that someone had to stay up all night in the basement to make there wasn't a fire because black powder burns so slow.

My name is Reign Clark. I built Will's 4-bore blunderbuss kit from a blank of Bastogne walnut and a round bar stock for the barrel and breech plug. I test fired his gun to develop a proof and standard load for his particular gun. If I can help anyone with a fine blunderbuss similar to the one I built for Red Jacket, let me know.

I'd be interested, but it'll have to wait. Got a 45 cal. mountain rifle in the works, if they ever send the barrel that is.

BTW,
someone tested the blunderbuss in the basement and the owner got upset. He said that someone had to stay up all night in the basement to make there wasn't a fire because black powder burns so slow

That was on American Gun, if I remember the name rite, you know, the hand cannon with philips head screws and an epoxy holding the barrel liner in because "can't do an interference fit because brass and steel will gaul" And "nobodies built a hand cannon in 400 years" That's the one gun show I got so disgusted with I go out of my way not to watch.
