:idunno: This may sound like heresy, but I have seen a lot of pictures of fowlers and a few rifles where the owner replaced a larger wooden rod (obviously the original broke) with an iron one. A rod sized for a .22 would fit perfect, and with a brass tip and a brass rod guide, you wouldn't have problems with wear on your rifling. It would also most certainly give that nice looking rifle an interesting look. Am I :youcrazy: ; :idunno: ;I leave that for others to decide.
