Since Jack did such a good job providing close-up photos of the finished Fowler I don’t know that I need to repost any!! He did such a fantastic job! Everything was so well executed! Couldn’t be happier!! Will update with a video when I get to shoot it!!
Beautiful new gun and shirt sleeve weather?
I'm truly envious. 😔

Shot the Fowler today!! So much fun!! Started with some round ball! Jack shared his load info that he uses with his Chambers Fowler, very helpful! Inn the first pic you can see my brother and I walking our shots up the target as we adjust our sight picture. His was the lady one before we switched to shot, it’s touching the top edge of the bulls eye.
Then we switched to shot. I was having issues with over shot cards and nitro cards wanting to turn some. So I fed it some hornets nest as a base to stabilize the cards. We shot about a dozen times at clays. I could never connect with one but my brother did bust one!!
Then I fed it two last round balls at another side of the target box. Shooting off hand at 25+ yards. Aiming at the exposed cardboard spot.
So excited to spend more time with this gun!! Love everything about it!!

1st off,,, great stuff, glad you're enjoying that beautiful gun.

Secondly, try not pushing the load components down further than you need to to just start the next component. Then push the whole mess down together.

I made "shot load short starter" to help with this. Not historically correct, and I've found that with practice I rarely need it anymore but it can be handy when needed....

I took a 20 gauge button jag and set the screw part into the end of an appropriate size dowel...

I found these at Hobby Lobby when looking for dowels to make my shot cups.
I glued the threaded end into a hole drilled just barely big enough for the threads. Cut the dowel to a length convenient for you and file it to a comfortable to use shape. Stain and finish as you like.
