Rookie style lol here's a couple pics. It sure has gave me fits.pic of barrel is just to show the patina. I know some guys don't like man made patina but I build my guns for me and I like this medium gray and small pit looking splotches.

No disrespect but those little phone shots kinda suck. I would love to see more detail. It really looks like you did a great job with some nice wood.
Who put together the parts inventory? What caliber and barrel?

You go with what you like! BTW, I always loved the Lancasters, but since a life-long pal & his wife moved to York County some years back, I'm into Yorkie horns and rifles now! I'm all for man-made patinas if that's what-ya-wants! :) Some of the highly skilled craftsmen that show work in the great articles in Muzzleloader Magazine do patinas that will confound and fool the best eye. Aging of leather, etc., is a skill that requires a lot of taste and tact.

Very nice work.
My only comments would be to inlet the triggerguard a little more, and make your lock and sideplate panels smaller, i.e. trim the lock side closer to the lock and make the other side the same size in order to match it.

Thanks oreclan
I knew that but just skeptical of how good I could do. I use to make the panels bigger and lock was deeper. I'm gradually getting better. Thanks

Great looking rifle! Was this a full kit or did you gather all the necessary items from them. I had an uncle years ago that had a kit so his wife smuggled it out and I built it for his Christmas gift. It was a very good looking rifle but only lasted him about 2 months. Some butthead broke in and stole All his guns. Never heard from or saw it again.

Here's a couple pics Mulebrain
If I sawxa pic like that I would have to question the builder also.Had a little difficulty getting these pics. It's my lighting I guess.
