Well I'm finally back in ALaska.

My 10 ga pedersoli is firing fine now after some major tune up work. Still want to do more patterning, but it fires everytime.

We had to bend a hammer quite a bit, side to side and twist it some to getter hittn flat. Also changed the nipples out, I believe they were redhots, can't remember now as I bought them this spring when I was down south turkey hunting.

Our pheasant hunt was awesome. We never did get to ND, but we do have a bunch of land in SW Mn to hunt. The amount of birds was wild, nothing I've seen before. I did manage to get my 2, as did my old man. We were the only two of 8 shooting smokepoles.

Never did get to trying cap's papershotcup method of using grocery bag paper. Heck I was home 3 weeks and it went by all to fast. Bowhunting for deer every day, saw a huge buck twice, endedup shooting a forky with my longbow. Was holding out for that biggn.

Hopefully this spring works out as planned for turkeys. It'll be fun, the 10ga pedersoli, 2 10ga chambers fowlers (one for my old man), and a longbow. Hopefully I can make Tx, Mo, Ks, and Ne for longbeards, maybe MN or WI if we can draw. To bad we are in winter here, all the fowl is gone. So she's still in MN awaiting my return..............

I am so glad you got the Peder working friend. I am glad you showed them cartridge guns how to have fun
I am equally impressed with the long bow hunting :v
Best wishes, Nath.

Im glad for your succeses.. Keep at it.. all of it will get better, and better as you work on the details.. dave

I've been kinda "looking over your shoulder" waiting for reports on the 10 ga for longtails. I used to use a Navy Arms 12 and was really happy with those results, but sadly let it go.

In looking at replacements I've been giving serious thoughts to picking up both the 10 ga and 20 ga Pedersoli while bypassing the 12 this time around.

Were you satisfied with the "handling" of the 10 for quick wingshots?

Well let me first start off buy saying I'm not big into guns at all. 99% of my hunting is done with my longbow. Only longbeards is what I pull guns out for. This pheasant hunt was something I haven't done in a long long time.

So that said, was it a quick handling gun? For me it worked fine. She felt great, shouldered nice and shot fine once I worked the kinks out. And if you hadn't noticed there was plenty of kinks to tinker with. The 10 is a bit heavy to lug around all day long. We hunted from 9am till dark.

My problems?

-Had to rework a trigger
-miss fires, replaced nipples and had to bend one of the hammers,
-the barrels are sloppy in the stock, something we need to fix yet, not to serious though.
-the low and left on the mod barrel is still a concern. It does shoot fine with the load I'm using now, but anything else it's low and left. And it's more prevalent with a tighter group, which I have only achieved so far by slugging shotcups.

I like it, but for a brand new gun I still wouldnt recommend it. You should not have these kinds of problems with a brand new firearm of any kind these days. Maybe that is why navy arms dropped pedersoli's shotgun line?

ALso had issues with the stock chipping in many places around the side plate. The side plate is set down quite a bit. NOt sure if the chipping is from shooting, or just hunting. I am hard on everything, but was suprised to see this.

If you like navy arms shotguns, you can still find them! I almost bought one this summer while I was screwing around in my evenings after fishing. Have found a couple of 12's pretty easily. If you want I can try and find those sites again and see if we can't find you one. I'd bet you'd like it more then the pedersoli's, atleast from my limited experience.

almost forgot, I'll try and get a photo from our rooster hunt here later on today, gotta run some errands this morning.
