Neat! Did you cast the butt and nosecap?
What caliber is it?
Last, but not least, have you shot it yet? :)

I built one pistol a number of years ago, and my next project will be a pistol.
As I remember, building one of these is almost as much work as building a rifle. The only real difference is the size of the stock, and there is a lot less room to install inlays.

Yes I cast the nose/buttcap. about three times at least. I'll shoot it this week hopefully.

Nice looking pistol you have.
Now once yu get to shooting it you may find all the pain was worth your gain

Arthur,

I applaud you on your courage in taking the plunge. Your poured metal work is quite impressive. I like the coloring of your lock and barrel.

Yes, it is a first project and most first projects are less than we would like, (Mine certainly were) but the knowledge that we take from the experience is often more valuable than the value of the item created. I have gone back and reworked several projects after learning more abut them.

You have also learned that there is a great deal involved in the relationship between the lock, barrel, trigger and grip. You have learned how to inlet the parts and exercised the guts that it takes to jump into a project. What is next? You either apply your learning to a better project or never try again and thereby admit defeat.

I would look at many pics of guns and compare those with what I had done. Concentrate on the shaping of the wood. Adjust your methods and try again. Look for bargain parts and make another gun.

Do not give up. You have just paid the entry level prices and should now go for the next level. You show a lot of promise in this work. I look forward to seeing your next gun.
