First attempt at making a powder horn.

You made a very nice horn. I would think a staple over the dado in the neck would help to hold the strap in the dado.

I was going to use a staple but that part of the horn is thin where i wanted to put it. So i made the groove to tie my leather strap. Plus i wasn’t sure if it would be ok if the staple extends into the horn.

It would be okay if the staple went into the horn.

You do want a very soft wire staple. If the staple protrudes into the horn cavity, you would want to clench the staple inside the horn. Not easy to do with the base plug n place. I would use epoxy to hold the staple in place.
