I bought my side (29sq ft) of veg tanned 3.5 to 4 ounce cow hide from an individual ((LOL)loads of leather) on e-bay bout $85 shipped to my door, thats enough leather to build a bunch of bags.

Good Luck

Swampy did a great job on my two bags. He also made me a belt bag with the same hide. REAL NICE

Nice bag...I like the style, I have a similar sized one that I use for my fire kit, holds flint steel and my char tin...stuff it full of dry stuff as I am walking along, a lot nicer than having to root thru the haversack to start a fire... :hatsoff:

Yup,

I have built a double bag, just haven't finished staining it yet. If it doesn't turn out like I had hoped I will build a larger version of the bag I have pictured above and get rid of the double.

I'll be interested it hear your reaction to the double. I've built several in a range of sizes, and just never made peace with them somehow. I don't carry a lot in my bags, so "sorting" isn't really an issue for me. But I sure like the looks of them and enjoy making them.

Yessir,

That sure is the way I feel about them, so far the best use that I can think of is to use it for a smoothie bag with the materials for ball in one side and the materials for shot in the other, just gonna have to see how it goes though.

I am slowly leaning towards the less is more way of thinking with the stuff I'm carrying, its amazing how much garbage we accumulate when we start this hobby and slowly condense it down to what we actually need/use.

I will post a pic of the "nice bag" that I bought back several years ago, man that thing is huge compared to what we honestly need, made by a saddle maker in the club, I could fit several small children in that thing.

If I ever get a chance to get that Trade Gun finished I'll let you know how it works out.
