Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
Got this kit as a hand me down, T/C said it was an early 70's model. So I put it together over the winter. My first attempt at blackpowder. Hope to shoot it this weekend.
That was 60 grains of ff Goex, seemed to work out well. Hoping to get more range time in the next few days to try a few variations. Thinking about trying hunting with it.

I also started with 60gr of FFg with my .50 Hawken style rifle. I actually took my first deer with that load. It did just fine at 40 yds and passed through the deer.
If you have time deffinitely see how much you can increase your load without blowing your groups. For me, that turned out to be 70gr of FFg which is now my hunting load for my .50.
