I finished this rifle about 3 weeks ago. I got the stock and barrel from Robert Hoyt. Its one of his .54 gain twist barrels. This is my first kill with this rifle. I got him Tuesday afternoon around 3pm. I was just slowly moseyin' around as it felt like a "deery" afternoon...at least that's what I call it. It was still and clear and a cold front was moving in that evening. The shot was 75-80 yards. He ran about 50 and piled up.

Thank y'all! I'm not much of a "horn hunter" as we say around here but I gotta admit it was nice to christen the rifle with a buck. Still hunting instead of being in a stand was also a nice bonus.
