I’ve got an 18th century Turkish barrel, an 18th century Turkish Miquelet lock, some walnut courtesy of our dear @Rudyard , and an original to follow

I’ve done some light gunsmithing in the past but never attempted a full build. The barrel inletting is very daunting and I’ve already made some mistakes, but it is a great learning experience!

I’m only in town another couple weeks so I’m hoping to be able to get something of substance done while I’m here.

1. Keep your chisels razor sharp. Make a strop and use it frequently. 2. Take your time and think ahead. If your inletting is a little off, oil finishes will swell it , making it less noticeable. Relax and have fun!
