We never have a lack of meat in our freezer. I have fed my family for the last 35 years with deer meat and now my wife has taken up hunting the last few years and has been adding to the freezer as well. (See Wife's First Buck thread for her deer!) I have been a die hard bowhunter but this flintlock hunting has really got under my skin and haven't even had my bow in my hand yet this season! I think my shotgun buddies all think I'm crazy for choosing to hunt my longrifles and now flintlocks during our shotgun seasons! I think THEY are the ones missing out!! . Greg

Well now the gun seasons are kicking into high gear starting this weekend. Now I have a hard decision to make as to which season to hunt to try and shoot a buck with my flintlock. The first two seasons are shotgun seasons where a BP gun is a legal weapon and can be used. My shotgun toting friends hunt the first season. The last season is a Late Muzzleloader season and is after the deer have been run to death for the prior 2 weeks of shotgun. Thinking maybe getting a doe tag for the first season so I can hunt with my buddies and save my buck tag for the Late Season. Decisions decisions!! Greg.
