First fowler

I've been shooting BP for many years in one form or another. However, after reading this forum I decided I needed a fowler. Soooooooooooooo, I found a Jack Garner flinter in .62 caliber with a 36 inch barrel. I realize some people haven't been happy with Jack's work, but this smoothbore is by far the finest gun I have ever owned.

If I can sneak away from work tomorrow I'm going shooting. Otherwise its going to have to wait until Sunday. Man that's a long way off!

Anyway, just wanted to thank you guys for sparking (no pun intended) my interest in smoothbores.

Know how you feel. Just got my Bess last week. 2nd smoothie for me (the first was a "ceation" by an experimenter. Worked, but not well and down right ugly. Still lotsa fun.
My new Bess has a couple of "bugs" (gotta learn how to shoot it) to work out, But I'm already VERY pleased.
Don't do like I did the first time out. So worried about forgetting to bring anything needed that I found out at the range I had everything except the gun!!! :youcrazy: Yup, I was excited too. ::

LOL, I know exactly how you feel. The previous owner emailed me this morning with load info and how-to's (now that's very good customer service). I think I may need a caddy. ::
