My first hunt is scheduled for tuesday morning. Because of work schedule Tuesday mornings and all day Wednesdays are my only options. Unfortunately the forcast for this Tues. and Wed. is for high fourties and rain. My mentor will be going with me on Tuesday but I will be on my wn on Wednesdays. ML Season runs through the 24th. Any tips gladly accepted.

Will be using 90gr Goex fffg under a 245gr polytip powerbelt in a 50 caliber Bobcat percussion rifle sighted about 2" high at 50 yards. Ground blind has two promising trails within that range.

I plan to drape a piece of heavy cloth over the capped lock while I sit to keep moisture away from the cap.

Keep yer powder dry.
Keep yer muzzle down.
Keep yer lock tucked up under yer coat.
Keep still.
Pay attention.
Shoot straight.

Good luck!

If you're not too concerned about PC dress, get one of those vinyl ponchos and carry it along. You can put it on or drape it over some limbs like a tent to help keep you and your rifle a little dryer.

Oh yeah, one more tip. Roundballs are WAY cheaper than Powerbelts and work real good. And you can afford to shoot a lot more.

Again, Good Luck!
