I turned 16 a few days ago and just got my hunting license here in florida. I already got my first kill with a flintlock. It's an indian made 1777 charleville shooting patched .65 roundballs i casted myself.

I was walking down a trail on this public land in the evening, maybe around 4 pm when I saw 4 or 5 little piglets crossing the trail. I kneeled and when one of em turned broadside I squeezed the trigger at about 40 yards. Hit it in the brain. Now that I look back I probably should have waited to see if mama pig would come out but im still happy.

Congratulations young man! You've shot yourself the perfect sized hog to simply clean and then drop onto a hot BBQ pit.
A little seasoning is all that is needed. Serve directly from the BBQ when done.

You know the good thing about hanging with old guy? They know stuff.

Very good job on your first kill. Your kneeling positon is very solid, with not much room for improvment . Are you working on getting national 3p air rifle records ?

Thanks very much. In fact I'm the shooting captain at my high school. I scored a 242 3position this year in the nationals. which was I think top 18%

I tried to pan fry a piglet leg once. That didn’t work out so good. I’m a much better cook now!
