First Montana muzzleloader season a success!!

First muzzleloader season I have hunted since I left South Dakota 5 1/2 years ago. 2nd whitetail doe with the gpr. Shot was 50 yards broadside. She made it about 30 yards before her demise. .54 gpr with 1:60 twist. .530 hornady round ball. Mink oil lubed .20 pillow ticking patch. 90 gr of goex 2f black powder. CCI #11 cap.

That's fabulous! So glad for your success and the new opportunity to use traditional Mzlders exclusively. A memory made in Big Sky country. I need to look into this for a destination hunt sometime. Sounds like a great time afield.

I picked up an older 54 Caliber GPR about a month or so ago and have exerted much elbow grease smoothening the bore. It hold great promise with the PRB load. Hope to finish sighting it in during the Christmas / New Year's week in preparation for the 4 day Mzldr season in early January. Maybe I, too, can post a picture of a fine doe with some snow covering the ground at that time.
