Uberti 1861 Navy came in this morning. It's really quite nicely done, looks even better in the hand than on the screen.

I used to own 4 Colt SAA's, 3 blued 1 nickel, all .45, two 5 1/2" , 2 4 3/4", custom tuned by Bob Munden, stocked by Roy Fishpaw, 1 elephant ivory, 1 walrus ivory (his first) last 2 French Walnut. Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful. All gone now, along with MANY others when I ht a rather bad patch around 10 years ago.

Unwrapping the '61 brought the memory of those back. Similar smell even. Case colors not quite as nice, but damn nice all the same. Surprising, in fact.

All this is to say I'm very favorably impressed by the Uberti work. Stunning, in fact, for the price.

Can't wait for the '60 Army to come to my door!

Damn Marc, that's a fine pedigree! Colt's, stocked by Fishpaw and tuned by Munden, it's hard to beat that! I've got a 629 that Munden tuned and it is a slick sixgun for sure.

So sad to hear of Munden's passing.

Mark, how long did it take to come in, I had a 1860 Army ordered from Cabelas, but they are out of stock an not projected to ship for 5 weeks, saw your post lastnight so went to dixie an checked, had them in stock an cheaper so ordered one an canceled my order with Cabelas. I hate waiting on stuff to come in the mail!!!

Craig, I nearly weep every time I see a western and think of those beautiful pistols I once had.

Now I'm only watching westerns set in pre-1873 times and loving the BP revolvers (if the director knows his stuff!)

I din't hear about Bob Munden's passing I'll have to look up the obituary. He was a character, alright. I never met the man but talked to him on the phone. His voice could lift your spirits no matter how blue you might feel!

The Colt's just had his slick trigger jobs, which he charged a C-note for at the time (real early 90's). He had a package for $850 that also rigged the Colt for "fanning" style of shooting, just like the movies.

The slick trigger jobs were enough for me. In fact, in my ugly moods I think about whoever bought my guns sh!*in' in their pants trying to get used to them! It's about the only revenge I can hope for!

I had not heard of Bob Munden's passing.
How sad. I had always enjoyed it if he was in my town to hear him talk shop.

He was a master at what he did.

Mongo - My 1861 Navy came in from the Possible shop, less than a week delivery.

By the time I decided to buy the 1860 Army they were sold out. I found it available at DIXIE and bought it from them. I haven't even heard a word from them about shipping, just a confirmation of the order.

I've got the feeling I'm going to be waiting awhile for that one.

Anybody have any experience buying firearms from DIXIE?

I just purchased a 1849 Uberti Pocket Colt from Dixie...got it in 4 business days....

I bought a Pedrersoli Brown bess Musket and a Jaeger rifle kit from them and it took about 10 days from order to recieving if that helps but I ordered during the holidays.....

Yeah I do a lot of business with Dixie and their top notch! I usually get them in three days UPS Ground. Their rates are a third of Midway's also.

OK - Time is a funny thing when you get some years on. I just checked my confirmation. I ordered the gun on Jan 20, and it was at night.

So I won't start to panic yet.
