I have been muzzleloading for a few years, and have taken a few deer and elk with my percussion GPR.

I ordered a custom .58 cal Tennessee Mountain Rifle in 2006 and received it in January of this year. I spent 9 days this past September hunting elk, but only had one close call withot a shot being fired.

With a few inches of fresh snow and a late season doe tag in my pocket, I went up the mountain this morning hoping to make some smoke.

It did not take too long to locate a group of deer, and I was able to get within 70 yards undetected. After a few minutes the lead doe gave me the opportunity I had been waiting for, and made a perfect double lung shot.

I'm now officially hooked, what a thrill!!

Grats Pronghorn! :hatsoff:
Good shootin' and a good lookin' rifle. I get the feeling that doe is the first of many more to come with that flinter.

great lookin mulie. Good sized one to! One hell of a beautiful rifle.
After the shot, what did the deer do? How far?

Im from colorado also. 30 minutes west of trinidad.
 gotta be proud of that fine looking rifle and mulie!

Congratulations!
I think hunting with a flinter is real fun.
Are you use bigbore airguns for hunting too?

Thanks guys for the comments.

Greenmntboy and Kentuckywindage - I live in Thornton, wish I was living in the hills like you two.

The doe only went about 30 yards before she collapsed. Even though I saw her go down, I always like tracking an animal from where they were shot to final rest. Half way through me tracking I came across a good size lion track. With the fresh snow and the gusty winds, I am certain they could not have been much more than an hour old. Sure made the field dressing jod a little nerve racking.
