Decided to try a PRB this year vs Maxi's. Got it done but not what I expected. The rifle and I both did our parts. 60 yd shot. 85gr 3f, .490 ball with a .010 patch. I'm pretty confident out to 100 with it. Shot was great, however, she still ran about 300 yds before piling up. Was getting dark and I was alone so no pics. Spent my time taking advantage of the last few rays of light to get her field dressed and back towards the road. Decent 100-110lb doe. Swore, I wasn't going to harvest anything unless it was at least a spike, lol. I'm outta jerky so, there's that.

Where did you hit it?
Right behind the right side shoulder point. Great lung shot. Found a bit of lung mixed with the blood when I finally found blood after about 200 yds. And maybe that was part of it. May have been plugging the hole a bit. I don't know. Cause when the blood started, it really started.
You just never know. The next one you hit in the same place might fall over in a couple of steps.

One lung, or both? Complete pass through? They do have a woll to live, but that should have put it down well before that length of run. Glad for you success with the shot and the tracking.

I have never had a double lunged deer go over 100 yards...gun or bow. Now one lungers are a whole different ball game. They can go a long time on one lung.
