Loaded with about 28 g 3f powder and a 3/4 full primer of same powder and a.490 Hornady prb. I’m using a 5/8 flint set with a gap of about 1/16-inch clearance. To my surprise I just heard one loud boom. No delay that I could tell. So far I’m a happy camper ! Later I’ll check and see how she does on hitting the target. However next to shoot is my new Crocket rifle.

I was surprised at how quick the ignition was when I first fired mine, too. I was expecting a delay, but the ignition was pretty much instantaneous.

can you post a picture, I don't know what a trapper looks like. thx.

I have one (flint). Gonna take it to the Hawken Classic and see if I can find it a good home. Been burned on internet sells and stuff once, ain’t happening again.
